Harry Munk Rites Saturday

Harry Munk, 77, died in the Royal C. Johnson Veteran Hospital, Sioux Falls, Jun 4. Mr. Munk had been a patient at the Ft. Snelling VA hospital in Minneapolis for three months and three weeks ago was transferred to the Sioux Falls Facility. Services will be held at 11 am Saturday in the Dell Rapids Baptist Church, where he had been a member for nearly 50 years. The Rev. David Jones Jr., will officiate. Pallbearers will be Milton, Melvin, Jack and Donald Munk, Bob Westover and James Erick. Hermanson will be in charge of burial which will take place in the Dell Rapids Cemetery. Military rites at the graveside will be by the Geo. A. Fitzgerald Post 65 American Legion Firing Squad.

Harry Munk was born Jun 29, 1890 in Dell Rapids to John and Ada Munk. He attended school here and for many years was one of the partners in the Munk Trucking Lines. He married Clara Adamson March 30, 1921 and they made their home in Dell Rapids.

He was a member of the Geo. A. Fitzgerald Post 65 American Legion, having seen service in WWI.

Survivors include his widow, Clara; three brothers, William, Guy and Claude, Dell Rapids; five sisters, Mrs. Maude Westover, Madison; Mrs. Grace Godsey and Mrs. Hazel Ellis, Aloha, Ore., Mrs. Elmer (Iva) Erick, Sioux Falls and Mrs. Vernon (Florence) Anderson, Dell Rapids. His brother Fred preceded him in death on May 22 this year.
