Valbork Munk died on Saturday, June 20, 1998, at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls.
Valborg Christensen was born on December 6, 1910, at Pundrup, Denmark, the daughter of Chris and Kirsten Christensen. She came to the United States through Ellis Island at age 5 and settled in the Dell Rapids area. She grew up and attended school near Dell Rapids. She was confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church at age 11. Valborg married Guy Munk on January 21, 1930, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. They have lived in Dell Rapids since that time.
She was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.
Valborg was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dell Rapids and the Rebekah Lodge.
Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Guy of Dell Rapids; her two sons, Donald D. Munk of Garretson and Douglas K. Munk of Sioux Falls; her daughter, Mrs. Jerry (Alice) Crisp of Dell Rapids; her 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; her three brothers, Ernest of Dearborn, Michigan, Melvin of Sioux Falls, and Harold of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and her sister, Mrs. Inger Sweet of Denver, Colorado.
Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church in Dell Rapids, on Wednesday, June 24, 1998, with Pastor Randy Bobzien officiating.Sandi Sittig was organist and Pam Leib was soloist.
Casket bearers were Jon Crisp, Jeff Crisp, Todd Munk, Michelle Munk, Bonnie Quissell and Chris May. Interment was at Dell Rapids Cemetery.
