Had Been Resident of Dell Rapids
Sixty-Five Years; Funeral To
Be Held Friday Afternoon

Mrs. Ada Munk, resident of Dell Rapids for the past 65 years passed away, at the age of 85 years, 10 months and 2 days, following a lingering illness, on Sunday, November 16th.

Ada Marie Munk was born December 24, 1866 at Mantorville, Minn., the eldest daughter of Eldon and Amine Cook.

At the age of eight she came with her parents, two brothers and a sister to Dakota Territory.

She was united in marriage to John Munk, May 11, 1887 in Dell Rapids. To this union fourteen children were born.

She was a member of the Women’s Relief Corps and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter and two sons.

She leaves to mourn her passing six sons, William, Harry, Jess, Fred, Guy and Claude all of Dell Rapids and five daughters, Mrs. Maude Westover, Mrs. Vernon Anderson (Florence) of Dell Rapids; Mrs. Elmer Erick (Iva) of Sioux Falls; Mrs. D. V. Godsey (Grace) and Mrs. Guy Ellis (Hazel) of Aloha, Oregon; 21 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; a sister, Miss Elizabeth Cook and a brother, William Cook, both of Sioux Falls.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at the Methodist Church with Rev. W.R. Peterson Jr., in charge. Six grandsons will be pall bearers.
