Funeral held

Services were held Monday, Oct. 27, in the Dell Rapids Baptist Church for William Munk, 81, who died the previous Friday in the Dell Rapids Community Hospital. The Rev. David Jones conducted the ceremony. Mrs. Tom Merry sang and Mrs. Frank Greening was at the organ. Pallbearers were James Erick, Donald, Robert, Eldon and Melvin Munk and Robert Westover. Burial took place in the Dell Rapids cemetery with Hermanson – Kahler Funeral Home in charge.

William Munk was born May 18, 1888 in Moody County to Mr. and Mrs. J.J. Munk. He was a trucker for he Farmers Co-Op Creamery and also served on the city Council for 22 years. He was a member of the Baptist church. He married Lennie Rupner in Dell Rapids on April 25, 1917. They had three children, a son Jack, Dell Rapids; two daughters Mrs. Karl Knoche, Austin, Minn., and Mrs. Wright Masters Jr., Flourtown, Pa. Survivors are his widow and children and two brothers, Guy and Claude, Dell Rapids; four sisters, Mrs. Vern Anderson, Dell Rapids; Mrs. Eva Erick, Sioux Falls; Mrs. Grace Godsey, Hillsboro, Ore., and Mrs. Hazel Ellis, Aloha, Ore. and nine grandchildren.
