Funeral Saturday

Last rites were held Saturday afternoon, September 14, for Mrs. Claude Munk who died at her home on Wednesday, September 11, after an illness of 6 days. A short service was held at the home at 1:30 o'clock and a longer service at the Methodist Church at 2:00 conducted by the pastor, Rev. W. Morris Kildal. Two solos were sung by Ellsworth Brown.

Grace Irene Jones was born on April 27, 1917, at Oaks, North Dakota, the youngest daughter of the late John R . Jones, Jr., and Mrs. Jenny Jones Mallory. After the death of her father in 1918 the family moved to Dell Rapids in the spring of 1919. In 1920 they moved to Chicago to reside with Mrs. Mallory's father. As a baby Grace was baptized in the Dell Rapids Methodist Church and when eight years old became a member of the Fourth Presbyterian Church in Chicago. She was an active member of the junior organization of the church. She was also a member of the Camp Fire Girls for some time. Of late years she has been active in the Woman's Relief Corps, and recently became a member of the Junior Woman's club.

In 1932 Grace and her mother returned to Dell Rapids where she continued her schooling in the Dell Rapids High School. She finished her junior year, but was forced to quit due to poor health.

On May 11th 1937 Grace was married to Claude Munk. They have one daughter, Irene Louise, 16 months old.
