Claude Munk

Claude Munk, 83, of 3900 South Terry, Sioux Falls, died Monday, Dec. 6, 1993, at the Sioux Valley Hospice Cottage.

Claude Munk was born May 11, 1910, in Dell Rapids, the son of John and Ada Munk. He grew up and attended school in Dell Rapids. He worked at Munk Brothers Trick line until they sold it in the early 1950's.

He married Grace Jones May 11, 1937, in Dell Rapids. She died in 1940. They made their home in Dell Rapids. He stared work in the Dell Rapids Post Office in 1951 and remained there until 1971. He then drove a school bus for the Dell Rapids School System. In 1990 he moved to Sioux Falls.

Claude was a member of Empire Baptist Temple, Dell Rapids Senior Citizens Center, and Sioux Falls Area Ostomy Association.

He was preceded in death by seven sisters and five brothers.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Lyle (Irene) Swenson of Mitchell; two grandchildren; one brother, Guy and his wife, Valborg, of Dell Rapids; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 10, 1993, at Empire Baptist Temple with burial in Dell Rapids Cemetery.

Visitation was held Thursday, Dec. 9, 1993, at Heritage Funeral Home.
