Nancy Marie Anderson
July 31, 1951 - September 1, 2020

Nancy Marie Anderson was born July 31st, 1951 at Sioux Valley Hospital. Coming into the world at 8:55 pm, she was greeted by her parents Dean and Janet Everetts and her older sister Lynnette.

Her contagious smile would carry her through to adulthood. Through her childhood, she enjoyed helping out at home and taking care of her brothers. When she was 9, she received a personal letter and autographed photo from Vice President Richard Nixon in response to her letter. Nancy attended Washington High School and graduated spring of 1969. After graduating high school, Nancy completed her training at Stewarts School of Hairstyling. Being a hairstylist was her passion. She spent the next almost 50 years impacting people’s lives through improving their outward appearance, while reaching their heart with her friendship. Her employment has included Hair & Co, Oxbow, Hair Design Company (Stewart’s Salon) and her current position at Blondee’s where she worked until she entered the hospital. Nancy’s love for people was clear. Her coworkers and clients were not merely business acquaintances, but they were her friends and community.

She was loyal to her team and clients, and they loved her back deeply. Nancy also loved cats, gardening, flowers, yellow, and peanut M&M’s. Nancy found her purpose and greatest joy in being a mother and grandmother.

In 1978, she became “Mommy” to Jesse Stout. She held tightly to that role, forever reminding him of wearing his hat even as an adult. She was very proud of the man he became, and even more grateful when she was granted the title of “Grandma” in 2015. She called it “Grandma’s Party House” whenever the grandkids came over, and she would proudly tell stories of them to anyone who would listen. During the years her grandkids were in toddler room at church, Nancy served there each month taking care of the little ones.

Nancy struggled with COPD complications at the end of her time here. She was brought “home” to live with her beloved grandchildren for the last couple days of her life here, before ‘graduating’ to Heaven.

She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Survivors include her son, Jesse (Felicia) Stout; grandchildren, Abigail, Uriah, Eliza; siblings, Lynnette (Ron) Rother, David (Mary) Everetts, Danny (Carol) Everetts, Jon (Connie) Everetts; parents, Dean and Janet Everetts, and several nieces and nephews.
Celebration of life service will be 11:00am Saturday, September 5, 2020 at Calvary Chapel, 1605 W. 51st Street, Sioux Falls, SD.
