Anderson rites here Wednesday

Funeral services for Mrs. P.T. (Florence) Anderson will be held Wednesday, Dec. 21 at 2 p.m. in Hermanson – Kahler Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Anderson died Dec. 19 in the Dell Rapids Community Hospital following a lengthy illness. The Rev. Kenneth Fieber will officiate Mrs. John Muller will be at the organ and Mrs. Tom Merry will sing. Burial will be in the Dell Rapids Cemetery.

Florence Haines was born Nov. 24, 1893 in Massillon, Ohio. She was raised in that state and attended schools there. On September 25, 1912 she was married to Dr. P.T. Anderson in Chicago. They came to Dell Rapids to make their home in 1914. He died on March 6, 1975. She had been a resident at the IOOF Home for the past few months.

She was a 60 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, a 50 year member of Coralyn Rebekah Lodge and a 50 years member of the Dells Rapids Woman's Club.

She is survived by a son Dr. Allan Anderson, Webster; daughter Mrs. Leonard (Dorothy) Brakke, Milbank and Mrs. N.K. (Grace) Lathrop, Sioux Falls; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral Monday for
Veteran Dells dentist

The funeral of Dr. P.T. Anderson, 86, was held Monday in Hermanson – Kahler Funeral Chapel, Dell Rapids. Dr. Anderson had practiced dentistry here for 60 years. He died March 6 in the Dell Rapids Community Hospital.

The Rev. James Hauan presided at the service. Mrs. John Muller was at the organ and Mrs. Tom Merry was vocalist. Pallbearers were Dale Dunn, Oscar Emly, Frank Greening, Robert DeVaney, Victor Graham, Howard Hoyme. Interment was in the Dell Rapids Cemetery.

Palmer T. Anderson was born June 25, 1888 in LaCrosse, Wis. He graduated from high school in Marshfield, Wis., and from Loyola University School of Dentistry, Chicago. On Sept. 25, 1912 he was married to Florence Shipman in Chicago. They moved to Dell Rapids in 1914 and he was engaged in practice here until his retirement in 1974.

Dr. Anderson was a 60 year member of Lodge AF&AM and was Past Master; he was also Past Noble Grand of the IOOF Lodge. Dr. Anderson served on the Dell Rapids City Council for over 30 years also.

He is survived by his widow; daughters Mrs. Leonard (Dorothy) Brakke, Milbank and Mrs. Grace Lathrop, Sioux Falls and a son Dr. Allan J. Anderson, Webster, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A noon dinner was served to family and friends at the IOOF hall by the Order of the Eastern Star and the Rebekah Lodges.
