Mrs. Ellen F. Anderson
Funeral services for Mrs. Ellen F. Anderson, 78, Sioux Falls, who died her Monday after an illness of 14 months, will be held at 1 o’clock Saturday afternoon at the Banton-Peterson Funeral Home and at 2 o’clock from the Beaver Valley Church. She was born in Sweden on May 24, 1850, and lived in this community 47 years. She will be buried in the Beaver Valley Cemetery.
Surviving are eight children, 32 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. He sons are: August Anderson, Creston, Ia.; Elof, Valley Springs; Arthur, Bancroft, Neb.; Emil F., Bingham, Neb.; Julius, Hardwick, Minn.; and the daughters are Hannah Field, McIntosh; Ellen O. Kyle, Sioux Falls; and Alma Caroon, Rochester, Minn. Mrs. Anderson was one of the early settlers settling in Montgomery County, Iowa, upon her arrival with her family from Sweden in 1881. She came to South Dakota, in 1883, settling on the farm in Brandon Township, where the family lived until 1900, then moved to Sioux Falls three years ago, where she had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Kyle. Two daughters died in infancy in Sweden and one son and a daughter died a few years ago.
