Henrietta (Jettie) Albers was born on a farm near Tea on Jun. 23, 1911, the daughter of Evert and Lena (Westerman) Engelkes. She attended school and grew up in the Lennox, Parker and Tea areas. On Jan. 10, 1929 she was united in marriage to John M.F. Albers at Davis, SD. They lived in Lennox most of their married life. Her husband died Jul. 30, 1984,ending a marriage of over 55 years. Jettie continued living in Lennox and became a resident of the Lennox Good Samaritan Center on Apr. 12, 2001. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters; Lena, in infancy and Louise in 1965; three sons: John (Corky) Albers in 1960, Henry J. (Hank) Albers in 1992 and Ernest Albers in 1996; three daughters-in-law: Dorothy Albers, Bonnie Albers and Betty Albers; one granddaughter, Averil Albers, in 2001; two great-grandchildren; Jennifer and Jordan Foss; two brothers: Harm and Joe Engelkes; three sisters: Florence Reiners, Jenny Olson and Tena Wheelhouse. Grateful for having shared her life are her daughter, Jeanette Graves and her husband, Don, of Harrisburg; four sons: Herman Albers of Lennox, Marion (Lucille) Albers of Sioux Falls, Pete (Sharon) Albers of Lennox and Gary (Kristy) Albers of Lennox; daughter-in-law: Elaine Albers of Tea; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; one half-brother, Edward (Dorothy) Engelkes of Pipestone, MN; three sisters-in-law: Bertha Russell, Henrietta Gabriel and Florence Nordman, all of Lennox.
