Florence Buus was born on a farm near Tea, South Dakota on April 10, 1917, the daughter of George and Johanna (Engelkes) Buus. She moved with her family to Clear Lake where she attended school. On Oct. 23, 1936 she was married to Cornelius Albers at Parker. Nine children were born to this union. They lived in Lennox their entire married life. He preceded her in death on February 16, 1970. Florence worked in housekeeping at the Lennox Good Samaritan Center for over 17 years. She was married to Ralph Nordman on July 17, 1971 in Lennox. They made their home in Lennox and he preceded her in death on September 30, 1976. She continued to live in Lennox and became a resident of the Lennox Good Samaritan Center on November 15, 2004. Florence was a member of Lennox Ebenezer Presbyterian Church. Besides her parents and her two husbands, she was preceded in death by two daughters: Tena Anderson Stone and Marie (Mickey) Rozeboom-DeBoer; one stepson, Gene Nordman; two grandchildren: Rhonda and Rene Newberg; three brothers and three sisters. Grateful for having shared her life are seven children: Lorna Thomas of Boone, lowa, Minnie (Joe) Matthews of Mitchell, Neal (Pauline) Albers of Garretson, Albert (Janice Ernesti) Albers of Lennox, Barb (Sam) Sletten of Lennox, Darwin Albers of Lennox and Johan (Shirley) Albers of Bridgeton, Missouri; a step-son, Larry (Dorothy) Nordman of Lennox; a step-daughter-in-law, Norma Nordman of Lennox; 25 grandchildren; several great and great-great-grandchildren; two sisters: Henrietta Gabriel and Bertha Russel, both of Lennox; plus several nieces and nephews.
