Albert Harm Albers, Jr. was born Jun. 16, 1928, on a farm near Tea, SD, a son of Annie (Straatmeyer) and Albert Harm Albers, Sr. He grew up in the Lennox-Tea area and attended Lennox High School. On Apr. 11, 1949, he was united in marriage to Mary Ann VanLaar in Sioux Falls, SD. The couple made their home in Canton, SD, until 1959, when they moved to Lennox. For 37 years, Mr. Albers was a salesman for wholesale hardware, retiring in 1994. He was preceded in death by his mother on Jan. 31, 1939; his father on Dec. 20, 1977; two infant sons, Richard and Dennis; one brother, John A. Albers; two sisters, Jennie Plucker and Tena Javers. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Mary Ann; three daughter and their husbands: Betty and Ron Heibult of Parker, SD, Bonnie and David Hamersma of Beresford, SD, and Gail and Jerry Olson of Canton; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; one brother, Arnold Albers and his wife, Mary Lou, of Sioux Falls; two sisters: Alberdena Javers and her husband Edward, of Lennox, and Mae Elcock of Sioux Falls.
