Olaf Berg, 72, funeral in Baltic

Final rites were conducted for Olaf Sverre Berg in the Baltic Lutheran Church Monday with the Rev. I.J. Loveseth in charge. Mr. Berg died in the Royal C. Johnson Veterans Memorial Hospital in Sioux Falls Wednesday, March 22.

Pallbearers were Harold Moe, Felix Moen, Oscar Moen, Glen Moen, Orlene Brende and Harry Skatvold. Interment took place in the East Nidaros Cemetery with the Minnehaha Funeral Chapel in charge.

Olaf Sverre Berg was born January 10, 1889, in Trondjeim, Norway. He lived in Stjordalpa, Trondheim until 1907 when he came to the United States. He had been a resident of the Baltic area since that year. He was naturalized in 1918.

On January 23, 1923 he was married to Gida Wold of Baltic. Four children were born to this union.

Mr. Berg worked as a mechanic during his lifetime and also served in the U.S. Army during World War I. He was discharged as a Sergeant First Class in June, 1919. He was a member of the Baltic Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his widow, son Arnold of Baltic and three daughters: Mildred (Mrs. Harry Ray) San Bernardino, Calif.; Juliet (Mrs. Albert Allen) and Olga (Mrs. Thom Briley) of San Diego, Calif.
