Rites Conducted in Skroch Chapel for Susanna Bidne

Funeral services were conducted from the Skroch Chapel in Flandreau on Friday afternoon, Nov. 3, for Mrs. Susanna Bidne, 86, who passed away at the Fairview Home in Flandreau on Tuesday, Oct. 31 [1961]. The Rev. Robert J. Stemme, minister in the First Methodist church in Flandreau, officiated at the services. Special music was furnished by Kenneth Whaley, soloist, with Mrs. Harold Tillman as accompanist.

Susanna Ringham, daughter of Stork and Brita Ringham, was born in Houston County, Minn., on October 1, 1875. As a young girl she came to Moody County with her parents and attended Moody County rural schools. She lived on a farm with her parents northeast of Flandreau.

Mrs. Bidne was a member of the Lutheran Ladies' Aid, the Royal Neighbors of America, the Degree of Honor, and the Rebekah lodge. She had been a resident of Moody County for the past 82 years. For the past three and one-half years, she had been a resident at the Fairview Home in Flandreau.

She is survived by two daughters, Gertie Bidne and Hazel Bidne, both of Flandreau; four sons, Bernell of Medford, Minn.; Silas and Selmer, both of Flandreau, and Leonard of Lexington, Mich.; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one brother, Andrew Ringham, Baraboo, Wisc., and two sisters, Mrs. James Elliot of Kasson, Minn., and Mrs. Thom Ringham, Albert Lea, Minn. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons and seven brothers. Interment was in the Flandreau Cemetery.
