John C. Rommereim was born on Dec. 28, 1890, at his parents' (Andrew J. and Anna Rommereim) home north of Beresford in Pleasant Township. After attending grade school at Pleasant Valley #39 he helped his father on the farm until he reached the age of 21. Then he purchased a farm near his parents (southwest quarter 15-96-50). Mr. and Mrs. Harry Williams made their home with John andworked for him until Harry's death in 1967. John was elected as Lincoln County Commissioner in 1938 and served as commissioner until 1966 when he retired from office. In 1968 John retired and moved to Bethesda Home for Aged. He passed away in Sioux Falls on Oct. 28, 1970, and is buried at Romsdal Lutheran Church, where he was a lifetime member. (Source: The History of Lincoln County, SD, 1985, page 643)
