Peter Doyle Reached Age of 81 Years – Three Sons in Military Service

Peter Doyle, 81 years of age and for 62 years a resident of Moody County, died at 1:15 Monday afternoon after a long illness.

Funeral services will be held at 9:00 o'clock Friday morning at the Catholic Church announces the Davis service which is in charge of arrangements.

Peter Doyle, son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Doyle, was born October 23, 1863, in Richland County, Wis., and came to South Dakota at the age of 19. When he attained the age of 25 years he pioneered on a farm northwest of Flandreau in March, 1938.

He was married on June 9, 1890, to Rose Cehora, and to this union were born six sons; James, Vanport, Oregon; Joseph, Flandreau; Matthew, Sioux Falls; Leo S. and Archie, both of Chicago; T-Sgt. George, now serving in Italy. The mother of these sons passed away April 18, 1903.

Mr. Doyle was married on September 27, 1903, to Dena Larson, and to this union were born eight children; Daniel, Rapid City; David, Flandreau; Mrs. Albin (Dorothy) Erickson, Flandreau; Pfc. Vernon, serving in India; Ernest, Howard, and Glen, of Flandreau; S-Sgt. Wesley, at Ft. Lawton, Washington.

His line of descendents includes 27 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. HE is also survived by one brother, Michael, living in Wyoming.
