Dan Daugaard, 25, formerly of Garretson, died Saturday, April 28, 2001, at Region Hospital in Minneapolis, from injuries received in an auto accident.
He was born June 30, 1975, in Sioux Falls to Dwight and Dorothy (Maass) Daugaard. He grew up on a farm between Garretson and Dell Rapids and attended Dell Rapids Schools, graduating from high school in 1993. He received his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of North Dakota in 1998. He worked for Lockheed Martin in Eagan as a design engineer for Navy Standard Products.
He was a member of Eastern Lutheran Church in Eagan and a former member of the Lutheran Church of Dell Rapids.
Survivors include his mother, Dorothy of Garretson; his grandmother, Emma Maass of Humboldt; eight brothers: Dwayne of Hudson, Wis., Darwin and David, both of rural Garretson, Dale of Emporia, Kan., Darly of Stockton, Kan., Dean of Colorado Springs, Colo., Don of Columbus, Nev., an Daren of Ames, Iowa, and a sister, Debbie Cornish of Noblesville, Ind., 12 nieces; and four nephews.
Services begin at 11 A.M. Wednesday at the Lutheran Church of Dell Rapids in Dell Rapids with burial in the Dell Rapids Cemetery.
Visitation begins at 2 P.M. today at the Kahler Funeral Home in Dell Rapids with the family present at 7 P.M.
