1926 - 2018

Brookings - Dorrit L. Reeves died January 15, 2018, at Divine Providence Nursing Home in Ivanhoe, Minnesota. She was born December 5, 1926, in Riverside Township, Clay County, South Dakota, to Hans Bjordal and Elvira (Bervin) Bjordal. She graduated from Centerville High School, South Dakota State College (B.S.) and Northern State College (M.S.) She was a guidance counselor at Aberdeen Central High School and the State School for Visually Handicapped. She married Warren Reeves August 17, 1947, while both were students at South Dakota State College. She is survived by three children, Thomas Reeves (Janet), Hendricks, Minnesota, Mary Coler, Morris Minnesota, and Anthony Reeves, Madison, Wisconsin, six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, one brother, Ben Bjordal, and two sisters, Helen Miller and Marjorie Lindsay. She was predeceased by her son-in-law, Kevin Coler, and brothers, Allen Bjordal and Jon Bjordal. In accordance with her wishes, there will be no formal service.
