Warren "Tod" Leroy REEVES

South Dakota Veterans Cemetery - Sioux Falls Cemetery
Minnehaha County,
South Dakota

Warren L. "Tod" Reeves, age 90, died June 11, 215 at Hendricks, MN. According to his wishes, he was cremated with no services were held. Let his tribute be his family and many friends.

He was born in Volga, SD on October 26, 1924 to George E. Reeves and Mattie M. Allen Reeves. He was second youngest of six children; two sisters, Dorothy and Marjorie and three brothers, Oliver, Donald and George, preceded him in death. He graduated from Brookings High School. He played three sports for the Brookings Bobcats and held a state record discus throw until 1964.

Tod married Dorrit Louise Bjordal on August 17, 1947, at Brookings, SD. Warren was proud of his service to his country, particularly in the transport of victims of the U.S.S Indianapolis. Too, he believed President Truman made the right decision. After service as a Marine in the Pacific Theater in WWII, he graduated from South Dakota State University on the G.I. bill. Warren coached and taught at Toronto and Howard, South Dakota and in Teller, Alaska. Mostly he was a claims adjuster and executive with American Family Insurance in Aberdeen and Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Tod's favorite pastime was hunting and fishing with family and friends in South Dakota.

He is survived by his wife Dorrit L. Reeves of Brookings, South Dakota; three children: Thomas (Janet) of Hendricks, MN, Mary (Kevin) Coler of Morris, MN and Anthony of Madison, WI; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
