Floyd Eugene Aasen was born to parents Julius and Ragna Sophie Aasen September 1, 1926, in Day County, South Dakota. He moved with his parents to the Baltic area at the age of six and attended the Thompson country school. The family moved to Dell Rapids in 1938 and Floyd graduated from Dell Rapids High School. He entered the United States Army in 1946 and served during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was discharged in 1958.
Floyd married Marge Dudley in 1951 at Raymond, New Hampshire. He returned to the Baltic area where he worked as a farm laborer. He lived in Baltic until moving to Sioux Falls in August of this year.
He was a member of the DAV, Sioux Falls VFW, and the Baltic American Legion.
Floyd it died Wednesday, November 20, 1991, at his home.
Survivors include two daughters: Marla Marini, Haverhill, Massachusetts, and Carla Ahearn, Raymond, New Hampshire; seven grandchildren; two brothers: Irwin Aasen, Sioux Falls, and J.J. Aasen, El Cerrito, California; five sisters: Ruby Cormier, Waterbury, Connecticut; Francis Shortwll, Sioux Falls; Vivienne Lehmann, Belen, New Mexico; Jeanette Aus, Bakersfield, California; and Betty Rockholm, Floriassant, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his twin brother, Lloyd, who died in 1956.
