McFarland rites
Held here Monday

Mrs. William McFarland, 65, who for 23 years was a resident of Dell Rapids, died in a Sioux Falls Hospital Friday following a heart attack. Funeral services were conducted by Dean Harry W. Henning of the Calvary Cathedral Episcopal church officiating. Burial was in the Dell Rapids cemetery with PEO rites conducted at the grave by members of Chapter AD of Dell Rapids, of which she was a member.

Pallbearers were C.A. golden, James A. Nesby and Hollis Silkensen, Dell Rapids; Leon Farrell, Canton; J.G. Phillips and R.S. Carroll of Sioux Falls.

Mabel A. Summers was born in Tie Siding, Wyo., July 22, 1894 and moved to Nisland, S.D., in 1904. She was a graduate of Spearfish Normal. She was married to William McFarland in Denver December 29, 1913. In 1917 this couple moved to Dell Rapids and made their home here until 1940 when they moved to Canton.

In 1948 they moved to Sioux Falls where Ms. McFarland was cashier at Fusfield's for the past five years. She was a member of Calvary Cathedral and a Chapter AD, PEO, Dell Rapids.

Mr. McFarland died in 1948. A son, William H., Sioux Falls, and a brother Hubert G. Summers, Lakewood, Co., survive.

Miller funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
