Rev. Lee D.Pederson
Lee Pederson, age 66, of Davenport, ND died on October 19, 2007 at Innovis Hospital, Fargo.
Lee was born on November 23, 1940 in Dell Rapids, SD to Olaf Theodore and Ruth (Williams) Pederson. He graduated from Lyons High School, Lyons, SD. He attended South Dakota State University, Brookings, SD and transferred to Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD where he graduated in 1964.
He married Marjorie Benson on August 29, 1964 in Benton Lutheran Church in rural Crooks, SD. He graduated from Luther Seminary, St. Paul, MN in 1968. His first call was to a two point parish in Lanigan, Saskatchewan, Canada. He was there for 3 years and then moved to Hope, ND where he was pastor from 1971-1987. He then served Walcott and Gol Lutheran Churches from 1987-1994. He moved into Davenport, ND in 1995. Marjorie died on September 10, 1999. He married Deloris Marie ?Deb? Determan on April 14, 2002 in Oakes, ND. He enjoyed the outdoors through riding bicycle, planting trees, scouting and chopping firewood. He was an avid Vikings football fan.
He is survived by his wife: Deb; children: Dr. John Martin Pederson (Rev. Julie Tillberg) Mayville, ND, Daniel Lee Pederson (Rev. Dennis Sanders) Minneapolis, MN, Christine Marie Barta (Paul) Grand Forks, ND; stepson: Rev. Christopher Olkiewicz (Beth) Ames, IA; grandchildren: Alexander and Issac Barta, Bennet Olkiewicz; siblings: Deane Pederson, Sioux Falls, SD, and Theodora Riley (Allan) Corvalis, OR; and nine nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Marjorie.
Memorials preferred to Stem Cell Research with the American Diabetes Association P.O. Box 11454 , Alexandria, VA 22312
Visitation from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, October 21, 2007 at Fredrikson Funeral Chapel with a Prayer Service at 7 p.m.
The funeral will be at West Nidaros Lutheran Church in rural Crooks, SD at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 24, 2007. Burial will follow at the West Nidaros Cemetery.
