Funeral, Saturday, March 24 at 2:00 PM at Sandoz Chapel of the Pines. Visitation will be on Friday at 5:00 PM. Burial will be on Monday, March 26 at 2:00 PM at the Forest Hill Cemetery in Canton,SD. Grace Nettie Everhart was born January 20, 1918 in Canton, SD, one of eleven children born to Clell and Frances (Willey) Everhart. She received her education in the Canton school system and graduated from Canton High School. Grace married Stephen Eugene Jones on November 1, 1939. This union was blessed with 3 children. In 1957 Gene took a transfer with Fullerton Lumber and he and Grace moved their family to Valentine, NE. They made Valentine their home and remained in the community until their deaths. Gene passed away on November 10, 2004. Grace was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Valentine. She enjoyed reading, playing cards, walking and volunteer work. Grace served as a Pink Lady for many years at Cherry County Hospital. Grace passed away March 22, 2012 at Pine View Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Valentine. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gene, and 9 brothers and sisters. Survivors include daughter Sandra DeYoung of Watertown, SD, sons Stephen Jones of Mt. Perry, Ohio, and Robert Jones of Alpharetta, GA. Also surviving is sister Nina Baney, 5 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
