Funeral Services Held Mrs. O.B. Dahlgren
Funeral services were held on Wednesday of last week for Mrs. O.B. Dahlgren in the Willow Creek church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Ole M. Odland.
Mrs. Dahlgren died on April 21 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Melvin Jorgensen in Huron, after a lingering illness of more than a year's duration.
Cecelia Christina Stangeland was born February 12, 1864, in Bergen, Norway. She came to the United States with her parents at the age of five years, locating near Ridgeway, Ia., where they made their home for a few years. She moved from there to a farm near Dell Rapids where she grew to womanhood. Her marriage to Otto B. Dahlgren was on June 18, 1883.
Surviving are six daughters; Mrs. M. Jorgensen, Mrs. A.E. Swanson, Huron; Mina, Sheldon, Ia., Mrs. John Foss, Mrs. Clarence Foss, Colton; Mrs. T.H. Chambers, Canada; two sons, Elmer and Oscar Dahlgren who also live in Canada. Also surviving are 25 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by Mr. Dahlgren who died February 17, 1937, and five children.
She had been a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church and had been an active worker in the church until her later years.
Interment took place in the family lot in Willow Creek Cemetery.
