Ronald Ridpath
January 13, 1932 - August 31, 2022

Ronald Ridpath, 90, of Toledo, IA passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at Birkwood Village in Toledo. Arrangements have been entrusted with Anderson Funeral Homes in Marshalltown, IA. Online condolences may be sent www.andersonfhs.com.

Ron was born on January 13, 1932, in Sioux Falls, SD to Fern and Harvey Ridpath. Ron was preceded in death by his loving wife Shirley and by his siblings. Ron is survived by his daughter Lori Ann Ridpath, and a son Bruce John Ridpath, and a daughter in law, Lisa Ann Ridpath. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Alicia Nicole Ridpath, and Nathan Andrew Ridpath and a special niece and her family in Sioux Falls. Shirley was the love of Ron’s life, and they were happily married for 67 years. The past months have been difficult for Ron, missing his dear wife, but we are grateful they are reunited in heaven. Ron was a great family man who loved his wife and children and prioritized them above other things. He was involved in his kids lives and was always there for them in times of need.

He loved being around young people and was a scout leader and coach for many little league teams. He was also often the life of the party with all the neighborhood kids. Ron was a Navy veteran and served his country proudly during the Korean War. Ron had a long career working for Iowa Electric Light and Power (Alliant Energy). He was an office manager for many years in different communities. He also had a career after retiring from Iowa Electric, working for Poweshiek Rural Water for 20 years. Ron was a great boss and employee. He was a hard and yet fun worker, and a wonderful provider for his family. Ron and Shirley were possibly the greatest Hawkeye fans! They loved the Hawks and faithfully cheered them on in good and bad times. They proudly went to many games.

We are grateful for the life well lived by Ron Ridpath. We’re also thankful for Ron’s faith in our Lord. Though we grieve now as we miss him, we know we will see him again one day in heaven.
