Robert Leroy Boyd
December 21, 1931 - February 10, 2022
Robert Leroy Boyd was born on December 21, 1931 the son of John and Marie Boyd in Mason City, Iowa. Bob passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at the age of 90. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 14, 2022 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at George Boom Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory. The memorial service for Bob will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at the funeral Home.
Bob was educated in Mason City and as a young man enlisted in the United States Air Force in April of 1951 and received an honorable discharge in April of 1955. He married his high school sweetheart, Beverly Nagel on December 23, 1951 in Mason City. They had three children, Debra, Pamela and Robert. Bob and Bev recently celebrated 70 years of marriage.
Bob worked at REA Express as a driver and later worked his way up to district manager. He eventually changed careers, becoming a State Farm Insurance Agent.
Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycles, snowmobiles, four wheelers and spending time at their vacation home for 29 years in the Black Hills. He cherished time spent with his beloved wife, Bev their children and grandchildren.
Bob is survived by his wife, Bev; daughter, Debra (Dave) Murray, their children, Greg (Tandis), Chad (Katherine), Stacia (Cameron), Brett (Katie); daughter, Pam (Scott) Huckins, their children, Elizabeth, Graham (Fiancé Monica), Jamie (Matt), Robert (Teri); son, Bob (Linnea), their children, Bella, Adda, Lucia, Braxton and eleven great-grandchildren.
Bob was preceded in death by his father, mother and step-father, Raleigh King.
