Wayne A. Boyd, 83, son of Hugh A. and Abbie (Aman) Boyd, was born in Yankton, SD, on February 26, 1919. Wayne graduated from Vermillion High School and attended the University of South Dakota.

Wayne was united in marriage with Beverly J. Brown in Great Falls, MT, on September 5, 1943. Wayne served as a Staff Sgt in the Air Force Air Corps. Wayne served from May 7, 1942, to December 18, 1945, at various locations stateside and Algiers. Wayne and Beverly lived in Sioux Falls for 21 years and also resided in Huntington, WV, for three years, Bismarck, ND, Great Falls, MT, and Belle Vista, AK. He worked as a Field Representative with the South Dakota Unemployment Department for 21 years, retiring in 1982.

Wayne was a member of the Elks Club, Moose, VFW, American Legion, and elected the Clay County Auditor. He served as treasurer for Hilltop Heights Methodist in Sioux Falls and Congregational Church in Aberdeen. He managed the State Unemployment Agency Credit Union until he retired. Wayne was an accountant for Cowles Broadcasting Company at WNAX in Yankton and WHTN in Huntington, West Virginia.

He was an avid golfer, cribbage player, crossword puzzle solver and reader.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Beverly, Sioux Falls; children, Bruce W. (Mary) Boyd, Sioux Falls, Gail Harris, Sioux Falls, Marsha (Roger) Dede, Sioux Falls, Todd D. (Karen) Boyd, Clear Lake, SD; seven grandchildren, Allison (Boyd) Hauck, Aaron Boyd, Taci Boyd, Jericho Dede, Rebel Dede, Bryce Boyd, and Bryan Boyd; brother, Don Boyd, Yankton, SD, and a host of other relatives and friends.

His parents, brothers, Darrel and Dick, and a sister, Glennys, preceded Wayne in
