Nels Olson Ekern was born 7 april 1848 in Biri Norway. He immigrated to the USA. He settled in Moody county, South Dakota and married in 1882 @ Flandreau,SD to Annella Erickson born 1857 in Forde SOF Norway. They had three children, Anna Regina born 1882, Peter Ekern born 1885, and Palmer Edward Ekern born 1891. Nels Olsen,21 years,imigrated 23.april 1869 with the boat S/S Argo, April 23 and transferred on April 26 on the boat S/S City of London, April 28 with an Arrival in New York=Saturday May 8,1869. He lived in La Crosse, Wisc before moving to Moody co., Dakota Territory in 1875.
