Edna Munk – McKee
Edna Artz was born on June 4, 1895 at Polo, Illinois, the daughter of Tom and Florence Artz. She grew up in Polo until she was 13, when she moved to South Dakota. She married Jesse Munk in 1913 in Dell Rapids. Mr. Munk died in 1955. When she was 82, she married Glen McKee on September 18, 1977 in Dell Rapids. They were married for 16 years. They moved into the Terrace Manor Nursing Home in 1991. Mr. McKee died in 1993.
Edna died on Wednesday, October 4, 2000 at the Terrace Manor Nursing Home. She was 105 and was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Harold, and her two brothers.
She was a member of the Lutheran Church of Dell Rapids and Women of ELCA, the American Legion Auxiliary, and the Royal Neighbors.
Grateful for having shared her life are her two sons, Eldon and his wife, Vera, and Milton and his wife, Audrey of Dell Rapids; her daughter in law, Gail Munk-Bares of Dell Rapids; and her fifteen grandchildren and thirty-one great-grandchildren.
