Danny Erickson
August 2, 1948 - November 27, 2021
Danny Erickson, 73, of Edgewater, FL formerly of Sioux Falls, SD passed away with his family at his side on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at the Halifax Hospice in Edgewater, FL. On August 2, 1948 Danny was born to John and Minnie (Schmidt) Erickson in Salem, OR. Within months, the family moved back to Sioux Falls, SD. With the exception of two years serving our country in the US Army, the Sioux Falls area would be his home until moving to Edgewater, FL in 2014.
Danny had careers in the construction and trucking industries. He was an active participant in league baseball and softball and spent many summers fishing the Missouri River. In 2004 he married Kimberle, whom he gave his heart to 12 years previous. Together they toured coast to coast and many miles in between on their Harley Davidson motorcycles and towing their camper. Danny was a member of the Harley Owners Group, club member of SHGUALROF, BMWMOA, SDAbate, and the American Legion.
Thankful for sharing his life are his wife and sons, Jason (Angie) Erickson, Jesse Witt, Logan (Courtney) Witt, Kurtis Witt, and Kody (Steph) Witt, seven grandchildren, sister Linda (Dennis) Fontenot, brother Allan (Ann) Erickson, four nephews and one niece, as well as many other family, good friends, and canine companion, Philip.
