JoAnn Darlene Park
February 25, 1931 - December 12, 2020
JoAnn Darlene Park was born in Dell Rapids on February 25, 1931, the daughter of Freeman and Mildred (Flood) Bowles. She grew up in Lake Andes until moving to Dell Rapids at the age of 7. JoAnn graduated from Dell Rapids High School in 1949, she attended Sioux Valley School of Nursing class of 1952. She married Roger Park August 3, 1952 at the Dell Rapids Lutheran Church. They eventually made their home in Dell Rapids. JoAnn worked at the Dell Rapids Community Hospital, school nurse in Dell Rapids, and the VA hospital. JoAnn enjoyed all family activities, was an avid painter, and enjoyed cards.
JoAnn passed away at Ava’s house December 12, 2020. She was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather (Walter Potas), her granddaughter Stacey and her brother Gerald (Jerry) Bowles.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter Jan of Fort Worth, her sons Scott (Maura) of Hartford and Daniel (Sharon) of Sioux Falls. Grandchildren Jessie (Mike Maske), Travis (Rebecca), Jodi (Keith Flemmer), Freeman, Ries (Jill), and Christa (Greg Bartmann). Great Grandchildren Atley Skie, Ayrie, Addy, Isiah, Claire, Theodore, Reva, Roger, Lane and Liliana. Her sisters Jean Berge, Baltic, and Janice Johnson, Garretson, sister-in-law Carol Bowles, Denver, CO. Many nieces and nephews.
Private family memorial services will begin at 1:00 PM Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at the Lutheran Church of Dell Rapids.
