Connie Louise Taylor
August 01, 1951 - August 03, 2017

Connie Louise Taylor passed away on August 3, 2017, at the age of 66, while enjoying a beach vacation with her daughters and sister.

Connie was born on the first of August in 1951 in Kansas City, to Gerald and Marguerite Sylvis. She was the vibrant middle child of five daughters and that seemed to set the tone for the rest of her life as a connector and people person, a selfless and devoted friend, an ever-present cheerleader and caregiver. She was always being creative, whether it was by making wreaths and ceramic ornaments or designing elaborate Halloween costumes or traveling to craft shows with her mother. Her contagious laugh exemplified her love for life and she made friends wherever she went.

She graduated from Washington High School in Sioux Falls and headed to Honolulu, Hawaii, in 1969, where she met her first husband, Lewis Reynolds. They lived in Texas, raising two daughters. Connie returned to Sioux Falls in 1998 and shortly thereafter, she began her career at Citibank.

Grateful for having shared her life are her daughters and sons-in-law, Kelly Reynolds and Jamie Forehand (Brooklyn, NY), Kimberly and Sonny Baker (Roanoke, TX); granddaughter, Kensie Baker (Roanoke, TX); partner, Mark Volden (Sioux Falls, SD); mother, Marge Sylvis (Sioux Falls, SD); sisters and brothers-in-law, Cheryl Thompson (Phoenix, AZ), Carol and John Snobeck (Sioux Falls, SD), Cindy and Dennis Senger (Colorado Springs, CO), Cathy and Jonathan Rubin (New York, NY); and extended family. She was greeted in heaven by her father, Gerald Sylvis, and brother-in-law, John Thompson.

Memorials may be directed to Marge Sylvis, 904 S. Kiwanis, Sioux Falls, SD, 57104, for the family to select a cause to best honor Connie at a future date.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 14, at 11:00 am, at First Congregational in Sioux Falls, with visitation from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm on Sunday, August 13, at Miller Funeral Home, 507 S. Main Avenue.
