George was born on May 15, 1898 on a farm near Trent to Charles E. and Celia Buck Jensen. He received his education in rural Trent schools and then started working as a mechanic in Sioux Falls. He was married to Martha Mary Amdahl on June 16, 1923 at Sioux Falls. She died on November 25, 1974. In the fall of 1923 he returned to Trent for five years. From 1928 to 1934 he worked in various places as a mechanic and heavy equipment operator. In 1934 he moved to Flandreau where he worked for the State Highway Department and the Soil Conservation Service, retiring in 1964. He was a member of the Izaak Walton League.

Survivors
He is survived by one son, Richard P. Jensen, St. Peters, MO and four grandchildren, Todd and Mari Jensen, St. Peters, MO and Wendy Johnson, Portland, OR and Susan Johnson, Corvallis, OR. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, one daughter, Betty in 1980, one sister and one brother.
