Bonnie Ruth Chambers, daughter of Lloyd and Fern (Lane) Chambers, was born September 9, 1928 in Primghar, IA. The family later moved to Sanborn, IA, where Bonnie attended grade school. In 1945 she moved with her family to Sioux Falls, SD. Bonnie graduated from Washington High School. She then attended the South Dakota Beauty Academy, graduating in 1950. Bonnie was united in marriage with Wyndal Duane Conklin on April 26, 1953 in Sioux Falls, where the couple made their home. Bonnie was a homemaker and later an electronic assembly technician at Raven Industries. She retired from Raven's in January of 1990.

Bonnie loved life and her family. She was never happier than on a camping or fishing trip with her family and her brothers and sisters and their families. Bonnie was a great organizer and enjoyed planning get-togethers and parties for her family and friends. In retirement, she treasured making and selling crafts with her husband. She also enjoyed crocheting, playing cards and games and putting puzzles together. In addition, her family and friends considered Bonnie to be a fabulous cook. Bonnie was a life-long member of First United Methodist Church.

Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Wyndal; four children, Gary Conklin and his wife, Gwen, Sioux Falls, SD, Debby Schumacher and her husband, Merle, Hartford, SD, Pamela Conklin, Sioux Falls, SD, Wendy Clausen and her husband, Kelly, Sioux Falls, SD; her 11 "perfect" grandchildren, Katrinka, Riley and Danielle Conklin, Lee, Katie, Bret and Ethan Schumacher, Mandy, Casey, Cody and Jenny Clausen; two brothers, Floyd Chambers, Robert Chambers and his wife, Shirley, all of Sioux Falls, SD; her sister, Betty Knock and her husband, Merlynne, Brandon, SD; her brother-in-law, Robert Postma, Sanborn, IA; two sisters-in-law, Darlene Michael and Sybil Hayes, both of Sioux Falls, SD; her special friend, Jenny Braaten, Sioux Falls, SD; and a host of other relatives and friends. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Fern and Lloyd Chambers; her beloved sister, Doris Postma; and two brothers, Laurence Chambers and Glen Chambers.
