Dorice G. Peterson, daughter of Irwin and Tillie (Carlson) Peterson, was born October 28, 1919 in Wausa, NE. As a child she lived with her family in several towns, including Sioux Falls, SD, before moving to Colton, SD. Dorice graduated from Colton High School in 1938 and Lutheranan Bible Institute, Minneapolis, MN, in 1946.
Dorice was united in marriage with Everett E. Andersen at Augustana Lutheran Church, Sioux Falls, on June 19, 1946. The couple farmed near Valley Springs, SD before retiring in 1979.
Dorice was a long-time member of Beaver Valley Lutheran Church and active in many church activities and organizations through the years. She had also been a 4-H Leader for a number of years.
Grateful for having shared her life are three daughters and their husbands, three sons and their wives, 21 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters and their husbands, and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Everette, on July 13, 2002, an infant daughter, Beverly Jane; her parents, and two brothers, Ernest Peterson and Ellwood Peterson.
