SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Services for Kari Ann Brende Locke, 35, Sioux Falls, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at East Side Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls. Burial will be in East Nidaros Cemetery in rural Baltic.

Mrs. Locke died Saturday, Oct. 9, 2004, near Lawrence, Kan., from injuries suffered in an automobile accident.

She was born June 3, 1969, in Dell Rapids, the daughter of Arlie and Nellie Brende. She grew up near Dell Rapids and graduated from Dell Rapids Public School in 1987. She attended Augustana College on a six-year program until 1993, when she moved to Lawrence.

Mrs. Locke attended Superior School of Hairstyling and opened her own hairstyling shop, Get Ready, in Lawrence. She had recently moved to Sioux Falls.

She married Gabriel Locke on May 29, 1998, in Lawrence. He survives, of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, Sam Thomas Cooke and Zac Jacob Locke, both of Sioux Falls; her parents, Sioux Falls; a sister, Laura Lee Hales, Overland Park, Kan.; a brother, Tom Brende, Sioux Falls; and her grandparents, Olaf and Belva Brende, Baltic.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at Miller Funeral Home's Main Avenue location in Sioux Falls.

The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society.
