Alex was 5'10", taller then his brothers, August, Julius, & Adoloph. Spent younger years in Missouri, moving to near Ft. Smith, Arkansas. Moving to Sully co. in 1894. Alex filed Homestead App. on Jan.11, 1898, issued on July 7, 1903. 1st car in 1915 or 16 was a Ford Model T. Alex was a Sully county commissioner for 35 years. He married Fannie Weischedel in April 23, 1902. They had 7 children: Vina, Edward, Edith, Adolph, Frederick,Albert, and Bertha. When he died he owned 22 parcels of land near Agar, 3 lots in Onida, 4 horses, 228 hd. of cattle, & some grain.
