Lester J. Kneebone
Lester J. Kneebone, 81, died Monday in the McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. Funeral services will be held Friday at the Second Presbyterian Church with Rev. Terry Palmer officiating.
Mr. Kneebone was born March 14, 1902 on a farm north of Flandreau and attended rural schools before starting to work for farmers in the area. He married Della Hayes on March 17, 1924 and they farmed in Moody County until moving to Flandreau in 1930. He owned a gravel pit and hauled gravel until 1940, when he went into the house moving business. He retired in 1974.
He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. John Baty, five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, one brother, Ben Kneebone, Sioux Falls. He was preceded in death by his wife, one son, Wayne, an infant son, parents, three brothers and one sister.
