Clyde was born November 1, 1926 to Albert R. and Velma (Carpenter) Stroman at Worthing, SD. He grew up in Worthing where he received his education, graduating from Worthing High School. Following high school, he entered military service on March 22, 1945. He served in the US Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater. Clyde also served in the Army Reserve and the National Guard, ultimately retiring with the rank of Captain. He received his honorable discharge from the military on September 21, 1960. On September 16, 1948, he was united in marriage with Roberta Ince in Woodstock, IL. Following their marriage, the couple lived in Sioux Falls where Clyde was employed with John Morrell, & Co. He retired from Morrells as the assistant manager of the Adjustment Department after 39 years of service. His wife preceded him in death on July 21, 2005. He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Unity Lodge #130 in Sioux Falls, held life memberships in Worthing Lodge #141 and in the Sojourners Masonic Military Lodge, was a member of the York Rite, the Scottish Rite, and was also a life member of the El Riad Shrine Temple. Clyde was a member of the American Legion, and held life memberships in the VFW and the DAV. Grateful for having shared his life are his son, Scott C. Stroman and his wife, Becky, of Sioux Falls, SD; two grandchildren, Robert S. Stroman and his wife, Sonja of Sioux Falls, SD and Christine Stroman, of Sioux Falls, SD; two great grandchildren, Aedan and Trenton; his sisters-in-law, Virginia "Gee Gee" Hundley of Hiawatha, KS and Peggy (Thomas) Elder of Wamego, KS; and a host of other relatives and friends.
