Ninety Years Old - MRS. ELIZA A. COLE –
Saturday, August 5, was the ninetieth birthday anniversary of Mrs. Eliza A. Cole. The occasion was quietly observed at her home, although she was kept busy throughout the day acknowledging congratulations from dozens of friends who called. Also many good wishes were conveyed by letter and card.
Mrs. Cole is one of Dell Rapids oldest residents. She came to Dell Rapids with her family from Iowa nearly a half century ago and has lived here continually since. The past few winters she has spent with her daughter, Mrs. Harvey Ryan at Sioux Rapids, Ia., returning during the summer months to be with her daughter, Mrs. Ethel Owens and to enjoy old friendships. She is enjoying old friendships. She is enjoying reasonably good health and is blessed with excellent eyesight which permits her to enjoy her reading, of which she does a great deal and thereby is well posted on present day affairs and is an interesting conversationalist. -
