Moses James Cole
December 01, 1992 - August 12, 2018

Moses James Cole; Mosha, MoMo, or Weezy as friends and family sometimes called him, was born unto the union of Bendu Chenoweth and George Cole on December 1, 1992 in Monrovia, Liberia. Moses lived part of his child hood in Liberia until the Civil War broke out in 1998 and his family relocated to Ghana. While in Ghana, Moses attended St. Catholic. On March 15, 2006 it was a happy day for the family as they were going to start a new life in the United States.

The family lived in Worthington, Minnesota where Moses attended Whittier middle school and Worthington high school until they relocated to Georgia to be around family. Moses attended Berkmar High School where is cheerful and friendly demeanor made him build lasting friendships with people from all sorts of background. Unfortunately his mother decided Georgia wasn’t for her and ended up moving back to Minnesota. Moses then moved on his own to South Dakota where he graduated from Harrisburg High School and worked as a CNA in a nursing home. Moses was a very hardworking and determined person. At the age of 24 Moses, along with a friend, opened up their own grocery store where he was determined to be his own boss.

Moses was very family oriented and always had a smile on his face. He was always coming to Georgia for any occasion that the family had, even if it meant driving for those long hours. Everybody who came to know him loved him because of his joyful attitude and always joking around. Moses was somebody who loved a good time always had people around him laughing and enjoying themselves. There wasn’t a time where you didn’t see him smiling with those baby teeth in his mouth.

Unfortunately, on August 12, 2018 at the age of 25 life was cut short for Moses when he was shot and killed due to unnecessary drama between him and some people. Moses leaves to worn his death his four year old son Deon, his mother Bendu, father George, brothers and sisters, nephews and nieces, a village of aunties, cousins, friends and his girlfriend.

Although his life was cut very short, the fond memories that he created with people will forever stay in their hearts. His death leaves a heartache too hard to heal and his life leaves precious memories too fond to forget.

Visitation will take place at Heritage Funeral Home for Moses on Friday, August 24, 2018 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Celebrate Church at the Meadows. 3211 Shirley Ave.
