Herman Thompson, oldest son of John and Martha Thompson, was married to Frances Meyer in 1935 in Randolph, Neb. They lived on a farm two and one-half miles south of his parents' homestead in Pleasant Township, Lincoln County. Their children are Marjorie (1936-1971), Marion (1932- ), Leon (1938- ), LeRoy (1940- ), and Larry (1948- ). The oldest son, Leon, and his family live on the home farm today. He married Betty Thornton of Sioux Falls. Their children are Lynda, David, John, and Susan. Marion married Howard Austin (deceased). They had three children, Angela, Alan, and Andrew. In 1967, Marion married Anthony Neuroth and they operate a feed store at Truck Towne on Lincoln County's boundary. LeRoy married Betty Page and they live in Beloit, Wis. They had two children, Robbie and Randi. Betty passed away in the fall of 1983. Larry married Phyllis Hawley from Beloit, Wis., in 1970, and they have two children, Jean and Janet. They moved to a farm near Beresford. The oldest daughter married Hugh Jensen in 1959. They had three chidlren, Carol, Doug, and Kathy. They live at Alcester. The Herman Thompsons moved to Beresford and resid¬ed with his mother, Martha Thompson, during her later years of life. (Source: The History of Lincoln County, SD 1985, page 717)
