Mabel 1898 - 1975
Tilman Kittelson was born Feb. 2, 1895, in Lincoln Coun¬ty to the parents of Eric and Sigrid Kittelson. He was a member of Romsdal Church throughout his life. He married Mabel Urdahl at Mason City, Iowa, on March 26,1918. Her parents were Andrew and Marie Urdahl of Northwood, Iowa. Mabel spent her childhood in Iowa. Mabel and Tilman farmed in the Lincoln County area un¬til their retirement when they moved to Beresford in 1953. They were the parents of two sons, Jules of Burnet, Texas, and Buell of Beresford. Children of Jules are Stephen and David and Buell's are Jan and Spencer. Tillman was a World War I veteran and he and Mabel were active in the American Legion and Auxiliary receiving 50-year membership pins. They were also active and faithful in their church attendance and in community affairs. Tilman passed away in March of 1971 at the Spencer, Iowa, hospital after receiving injuries in a car-truck collision. Mabel passed away in November of 1975 at Sioux Valley Hospital. Their son Buell is now the third generation to live on the family farm which is located seven north and two and one-half miles east of Beresford.
