Mass of Christian Burial will be Sat., Dec. 9, for Lucille Mae George, 78, Chester, who died on Dec. 6, 2006, at Dells Area Health Center. The services will be held in St. Joseph The Workman Catholic Church, Huntimer, rural Colton. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Lucille Rotering was born on May 12, 1928, at Arcadia, Wis., to Albin and Margaret (Schlesser) Rotering. She graduated from Arcadia High School in 1946. On June 16, 1953, she married Walter W. George and moved to South Dakota. They farmed near Chester until retiring in 1987 and moving into Chester. She worked as a cook for Chester Area High School for many years, and was an active member of St. Joseph The Workman Parish.

Survivors include her husband, Walter of Chester; two sons, James (Lori) and William (Peg), both of Chester; three daughters, Susan (Lyle) Swan of Dayton, Ohio, Barbara (Kevin) Uthe and Kay (Mark) Mackey, both of Sioux Falls; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bernard (Dorothy) Rotering of Independence, Wis., and Robert (Gladys) Rotering of Alma, Wis.; and a sister, Marcella Schlesser of LeMars, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Roman, Alvin and David Rotering; and a sister, Ruth Ruhland.
