Martin Ross
Final rites are scheduled for Saturday for Martin J. Ross, 64, of 116-1/2 N. Nesmith Ave., who died early Thursday morning at a local hospital. Chaplain L. A. B. Nelson will officiate at the 1:30 p.m. service at the George Boom Funeral Home.
Mr. Ross was born April 11, 1897, in Clear Lake, Iowa. He moved to the Colton area in 1907 to farm. He moved to Sioux Falls in 1944. He married Martha Sweeter in Luverne on May 18, 1945. For the past 15 years he was a salesman for Cargill Feeds Co. He was in poor health for the past three years.
Mr. Ross belonged to the American Legion.
The widow; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Charles Van Buskirk, Sioux Falls; two brothers, Edwin and Selmer, both of Sioux Falls; and a grandson, survive.
