Lloyd H. Leum
(September 20, 1923 - February 28, 2008)
Lloyd "Stub" Henry Leum was born on September 20, 1923 in Dell Rapids, SD, the son of Edwin and Florence (Henry) Leum. He grew up and attended school in Dell Rapids. He was confirmed in the Lutheran Church of Dell Rapids. He graduated from Dell Rapids High School in 1942. After graduation Lloyd worked for C and E grocery store until he started working with his father doing masonry work for Leum construction. Stub lived on the Leum home place until he became a resident of Terrace Manor Nursing Home.
Stub enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards, reading, watching TV, bowling and walking. He was a member of the Lutheran Church of Dell Rapids.
Stub died on Thursday, February 28, 2008 at Terrace Manor Nursing Home in Dell Rapids. He was 84 and preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
Those left to cherish his memory are his sister, Elaine Ivers of Arlington, SD and many nieces and nephews.
His memorial service will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at Kahler Funeral Home.
