Dell Rapids – Gertrude Carruthers, 88, died Sunday, May 9, 1999, at Dell Rapids Community Nursing Home.
Gertrude Remme was born Aug. 31, 1910, in Kenneth, Minn. She married Morris Magness in 1928. He died on Oct. 29, 1950.
She married William Johnson in 1953. He died on May 5, 1964.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Colton, First, Lutheran Ladies Auxiliary and Colton American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include one son, Donald Magness of Glide, Ore.; two granddaughters; and three nieces.
Services begin at 1 pm. Wednesday at Minnehaha Funeral Home in Colton, with burial in the Zion Cemetery in Colton.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
