Delores C. Karlin was born July 5, 1934 to Hilma and Emil Johnson in Dell Rapids. Delores graduated from Dell Rapids Public School. She earned her certificate in teaching from Augustana College. She taught at Mark Twain Elementary School in Sioux Falls and was a Director for Volunteers of America Daycare Center. Delores worked for Citibank for the past 15 years. During her time at Citibank, she received the Citicorp Service of Excellence Award several times. She was also named to the President's Award of Excellence at Citibank. She spoke often of her warm coworkers in the Security Fraud Investigators dept.
Delores died May 18, 2000, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Dennis, Christian, Harold, Arnold, Emil, and her sister, Elaine Whiting.
Grateful for having shared her life are five daughters: Debra Warriner, Kristi Fisher, Dianne Jansen, Karen Karlin and Bobbi Sample; her three son-in-laws: Robert Warriner, Joseph Fisher and Scott Jansen; her sisters: Shirley Hahn, Flandreau and Mary Ann Kenyon; brother, Darrell Johnson, Minneapolis, Minn., and 12 grandchildren and great grandchildren Delores has been a cherished friend to Gladys Ilse, Pat Rensch and Alice Krueger.
Funeral services will be held May 23, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Sioux Falls. Interment was held at the Dell Rapids Cemetery.
