Funeral services for Gertrude Irwin 90, of Dell Rapids were held in the Dell Rapids Methodist Church with Rev. Glenn Hammerlee officiating. Mrs P F Wagner was at the organ and Mrs. Edwin Olson and Mrs. Webster Drummond sang.

Burial was in the Dell Rapids Cementary with Hermansen Funeral in charge. Pallbeares were Donald and Monte Irwin, grandsons, Perle Wagner, Dr M. C. Dietrich John Larson and Webster Drummond jr.

Mrs Irwin was born on December 14 1867 in Mankato Minn. She married William C Irwin on July 30 1902. They both had made Dell Rapids their home since 1880 for Gertrude and 1884 for William. Mrs Irwin at one time worked for William Nisbet at the Dell Rapids Tribune.

She is survived by her sister Stella Catlin with whom she made her home; three sons, Everett and Luray of Sioux Falls and Zina G of Silver Springs Md,five grandaughters, two grandsons and 1 great grandson.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1932 and son J. Harry who died in 1926

William C. Irwin Died Sunday Night

Resident of Dell Rapids, 48 years;
Rural Mail Carrier 20 years;
Funeral Held Wednesday

William C. Irwin died at his home in Dell Rapids at 10:30 Monday night, after a lingering illness from cancer. He was 73 years, 4 months and 11 days old at his death.

William Conrad Irwin, son of John N. and Mary Ann Irwin, was born Wednesday, January 12th, 1859, at 8 o'clock p.m., in Berkeley County, Virginia. He was baptized by Rev. J. Rebaugh when an infant in the Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Irwin moved with his family to Maryland when the Civil War broke out. He lived there until 1884 when he moved to South Dakota, where he has lived since in Dell Rapids. He united with the Presbyterian Church at Dell Rapids in 1885.

In 1902 Mr. Irwin was married to Miss Gertrude Mae Harrington. To them were born four sons, three of whom are living, one, Harry Harrington was killed November 13th, 1926.
The surviving sons are Everett, Luray, both of Siuox Falls and Zina (Sam) of Silver Springs Md.
