Aadena's mother was Gjorand Persdtr (Anna Aker) Torbjornson and her father was Odd Torbjornsen Kvestad who drowned in the summer of 1850, the same year Aadena was born.
Documented in Norwegian records and by Loren Amundson, Odd drowned in the Bergen Harbor, Norway. Gjorand passed away between 1868-1873)in Lee County, Illinois or Winneshiek County, Iowa, two of the places Peder J Aker and her lived before settling in South Dakota.
Gjorand married Per Jorgensen Almerket (aka Peder J Aker) in 1858.
